 NEON LIGHTS

Neon lights are a type of Gas-discharge light that produces a bright, colorful glow when an Electric current passes through neon gas. The most common form of neon light is the bright red or orange hue it emits, but other colors can be achieved by using different gases or by coating the inner surface of the glass tubes with phosphor.

Here’s how the neon lights works.

  •  The color variations:-  while pure neon gas produces red-orange light, other color can be achieved by using different gases (such as argon, xenon, or krypton) or by adding phosphor coating inside the tubes. This is why neon sign can be made in a wide range of colors.
The gas:- Neon lights use neon gas, which is a noble gas that when electrically excited, emits light.

Electrical discharge:- When a high voltage is applied across electrodes at either ends of a glass tube filled with neon gas, the gas ionizes. The ionization process creates a visible glow.
